Wedding postal etiquette follows a pretty simple timeline depending on what events you are planning to have along the way.
If you planning an engagement party get those invitations out ASAP so that your guests can be prepared to celebrate your engagement with you.
Next,
Once you have picked your date, reserved the venues, and are ready to really get going leave yourself 4-6 months lead time to send your Save-The-Date cards. These can easily be created in conjunction with engagement photos. We offer FREE engagement sessions with our wedding photography package or we can do separate photo session for you if you prefer just engagement photos.
Next,
If you planning of friends and family from overseas or planning a destination wedding with guests then make sure to get those invitations out 12 weeks before the big day. Speaking of destination weddings, we love to travel and offer inexpensive destination wedding photography and videography to fit your needs.
Next,
For friends and family members within the continental 48 states. Get those invitations in the mail 6-8 weeks before the wedding. Remember, if you have selected a popular wedding date like 2-22-22 you might want to be clear on RSVP expectations so that your guests who have multiple weddings on a single day can plan and let you know their intentions.
Next,
Even though your immediate family members and bridal party crew know there will be a rehearsal. Please send their rehearsal dinner invites 3-6 weeks before the practice run.
Finally,
After all the planning, bachelorette and bachelor parties, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception! It’s time to unwrap the gifts and get those thank you cards sent to all the people who showered your love with their love.
We hope this helps your wedding planning!
